The Scholars Program is an 18-month initiative offering undergraduate students mentorship and foundational knowledge in sustainable development, social innovation, and ethical leadership.

What does the program entail?

Year 1: Foundation in Leadership and Community Research
1. Leadership Development Training

3-day intensive SDG Leadership training for understanding the concept of SDGs and personal growth.

Monthly leadership masterclasses on:

  • Project Design
  • Impact Evaluation
  • Leading for Impact
  • Collaboration & Conflict Management
2. Local Research Impact Project

Scholars work in teams to conduct community-based or campus-based research on key SDG issues in Bangladesh (climate, education, gender, youth, etc.).

Research supervised by faculty mentors and SDG Lab advisors.

Projects conclude with a Local Research Showcase where findings are shared publicly.

Year 2: Leadership in Action and Global Engagement
1. Advanced Leadership Training

Focused sessions on strategic leadership, sustainability transitions, and social innovation.

Includes guest lectures from policymakers, entrepreneurs, and development practitioners.

2. SDG Action Project

Scholars undertake a Leadership-in-Action Project, applying their skills in a real-world setting.

Project options include:

  • Work with an NGO or social enterprise partner in Bangladesh or South Asia
  • Lead a community innovation project supported by SDG Lab micro-grants
  • Participate in regional SDG Forums or exchange programs
3. SDG Scholars Summit

Final event featuring:

  • Scholar project exhibitions
  • Keynote addresses by partners and mentors
  • Certificate and Award Ceremony
